From Monday, September 12, buses of “Rīgas satiksme” will run along the routes of express buses No. 303 and No. 363
From Monday, September 12, buses of “Rīgas satiksme” will run along the two routes of express buses – No. 303 “Pļavnieki – Jugla” and No. 363 “Mežciems – Šampēteris”. The other routes of express buses will be closed and we encourage passengers to choose the alternative routes of “Rīgas satiksme”.
On routes No. 303 and No. 363, tickets intended for express buses will be valid. However, “Rīgas satiksme” has started activities to create similar bus routes of “Rīgas satiksme” instead of the mentioned routes, accordingly, it is planned to slightly change their route of movement and numbering.
“Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” (RMS) provided express bus services in Riga in accordance with the contract concluded in 2018. Thus, since 2019 until now, “Rīgas satiksme” has paid 25 million euro to “RMS” for the provided service of passenger transportation.
As already previously announced on Friday, September 9, RMS notified of the insolvency process and the termination of the express bus service. RMS provided a small share of passenger transportation, approximately 2.4% of the total number of passengers transported in the city of Riga.
